Throughout the development of Smartmark, we established clear goals that needed to be achieved.
At the forefront of our priorities was ensuring reliability in all weather conditions.
This encompassed:
Other crucial considerations included:
These objectives guided our innovative approach to Smartmark’s technology, resulting in a product that excels in meeting these critical criteria.
Each Smartmark is equipped with a state-of-the-art GNSS antenna.
These antennas provide access to all global satellite systems to ensure optimal reception quality.

With this powerful component, our Smartmark systems are capable of capturing highly precise position data.
GPS data is not always 100% accurate, and deviations can occur due to weather conditions and other factors.
If our marks were to rely solely on GPS, the logical consequence would be that the buoy would follow these deviations.
To address this, we employ drone technology to measure the self-movement of each Smartmark.
Our software utilizes all available data and determines whether it represents an actual physical movement or just a temporary glitch in the GPS signal.
Thanks to this unique combination of technologies, Smartmark achieves a movement radius of less than 25 cm.
The technology relies on a quadruple sensor system, comprised of compasses, barometers, gyroscopes, and thermal sensors.
We rely on Lithium-Ion batteries of the LiFePO4 type. In summary, LiFePO4 batteries are known for their safety, stability, long cycle life, and suitability for high-power applications.
Starting from our series, we install 180Ah batteries, which are sufficient for most waterways and allow your Smartmark to maintain its position for up to 24 hours.
Optionally, we offer a battery upgrade to 240Ah, which is highly recommended for areas with strong currents or tides.
The charging time varies depending on the charger, typically taking 6-9 hours. Each Smartmark comes equipped with a charging port on the hull, ensuring a quick and straightforward charging process.
The Smartmark is propelled by two fixed electric motors located at the rear of the hull.
Each motor provides a thrust of 13.5kg (30lbs).
These motors serve a dual purpose: they drive the Smartmark in self-driving mode
and work in synchronization to maintain the Smartmark in position.
Our system operates on a server-based infrastructure, providing a host of valuable benefits. Firstly, upon activation, each Smartmark seamlessly updates to the latest software version, ensuring optimal performance.
Moreover, this setup allows us to remotely monitor and offer continuous support for every Smartmark,
guaranteeing the highest level of service and assistance whenever needed.
Additional advantages include the capability to establish seamless integrations with other systems,
such as tracking software, through a user-friendly API.
For communication, we rely on mobile networks, and each Smartmark is equipped with a data SIM card.
For the European market, we offer these SIM cards as an optional feature.
Our SIM cards come with a flat rate and can be used throughout the entire EU,
with potential roaming charges outside the EU.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that our SIM cards can be paused at any time to provide you with even more flexibility.
Of course, you also have the option to use your own SIM cards.
